Steelrod machines small components such as terminal nuts, pins, bushes and washers up to large fabricated mining equipment.

Our Machine Shop has a large capacity, to perform CNC work with a variety of lathe and mill sizes in both horizontal and vertical machines with pallet loading facilities aiding in multiple job programming allowing for the manufacture of components and equipment to customer's own designs and specifications.

Steelrod regularly upgrade technology, purchasing new machines annually.
We have three Mazak vertical machining centres, three Mazak lathes,one Shin Nippon bridge type machining centre and 2 double column machining centres.

The Shin Nippon Koki RB-4-NM machine boasts 5 face functions and with a table size of 6.0mtrs x 2.0mtrs, capable of carrying 15,000kgs. 

The Okuma MCR-B11 Double Column Machining Centre has a table capacity of 45 ton and can handle jobs as big as 7 metres by 3 metres. 

Steelrod has also purchased a Thread Rolling machine - it's capable of roll threading are up to 5omm metric and 2" imperial including right and left hand threads. Steelrod also has manual machining capabilities in lathe, milling and drilling.
